Just came back from the states and I can truly say that I was impressed.  From the skyscrapers to the busy shopping districts (great deals) and the Broadway shows--I definitely needed a bit more time to take it all in.  Anyway I loved my trip and I'm planning to go back soon.  Although I found many similarities, it was nothing compared to what I was used to.  For example their drug store is Duane Reade seen literally on every street.  I'm used to Shoppers Drug Mart found maybe every 3 or 4 blocks.  They have wrap, pretzel and hotdog stands on every corner where we only have hotdog stands.  Over there finding a NYPD officer is just as easily and comforting as finding a taxi driver (especially late at night) --and I found them all to be pleasant and friendly.  Downtown Manhattan never seems to go to sleep which is good if your ever stranded.  Where I'm from you'd be lucky to find anyone roaming around downtown nearing midnight--not much of a party scene.  The tours were great and the shopping was amazing.  Next time I'm going strictly for the Broadway shows because there are just so many.  Luv my home and Luv NY.
